Dec. 31, 2010John Joseph Mysliwiec
John Joseph Mysliwiec, 51, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 31, 2010. He was the loving husband of Pia Mysliwiec, the gentle and patient father of his five children, and the son of the late Joseph and Ruth Mysliwiec. John went to St. Thomas Aquinas High School in New Britain, and graduated with an Accounting Degree from Central Connecticut State University. He worked for Aetna for 20 years, and later was president and CFO of his own real estate company in Glastonbury. He was a loving and very faithful Roman Catholic, who dedicated all of his free time to his family and home. He enjoyed canoeing and spending special time with his children in the summer, and the daily tasks of fatherhood, such as homework late into the night, or watching his son's crew races or his daughter performing on stage, reading and playing with Charlotte, and sitting down for family meals and prayers every night. He completely supported and guided the family and will be so unbelievably missed. He leaves his loving wife, Pia Mysliwiec, and his five children, Christian, Miles, Simon, Emmeline and Charlotte, of whom he was so proud of their accomplishments, their faith, and love and affection for one another. He also leaves his four siblings and their spouses and children, Susan and her husband James Pentalow of Mooresville, North Carolina, and their children, Jennifer (and her fiancé Vincent of Montclaire, New Jersey), Gabriella and James; James Mysliwiec and his wife Susan of New Britain, and their children, Melinda and her husband Adam Rembisz, Shane and Amanda; Kathy Mercak and her husband James of Tequista, Fla., and their children, Jason and Melissa, also a dear goddaughter to John; and his younger brother, William Mysliwiec of Plainfield, New Jersey, of whom he had dear memories growing up with. In addition to his siblings, he leaves Pia's close relatives, including his wonderful and thoughtful mother-in-law, Gina Tarascio of Newington; his brother-in-law, Joseph Tarascio and his wife Norma of Florida; his sister-in-law, Anna Accaputo of Glastonbury, and her children, Max, and Giorgiana Hunt and her husband Michael, and their children, Michael, Michela, Michon and Malia; his brother-in-law, Dario Tarascio of Rocky Hill, and his wife, Licia, and their children, Gina, and Carmelo and his wife, Tanya, and their children, Anthony and Savannah. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 180 Farmington Ave., Hartford on Tuesday (Jan. 4) from 6-8 p.m. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Wednesday (Jan. 5) at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Cathedral of St. Joseph, 140 Farmington Ave., at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford. Richard Anthony Brophy
Richard Anthony Brophy, 18, of 134 McKinley Dr, New Britain, died Saturday, October 1, 1977 in Halifax County Hospital, Daytona Beach, Fla., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Daytona Beach.
A native of New Britain, he was the son of Mrs. Elizabeth (Carrington) Brophy of New Britain and the late New Britain police Lt. John G. Brophy. He was a lifelong New Britain resident. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School this year. He was a student in the aeronautical engineering program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach.
Besides his mother, he leaves three brothers, Gerald J Brophy of Monroe, Terrance R. Brophy of Meriden, and John P. Brophy of New Britain; two sisters, Mrs. Marie E. Logie of Calgary, Alberta, Can. And Miss Catherine M. Brophy of New Britain; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Agnes (O’Connor) Carrington of West Hartford.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. at Maple Hill Chapels, 382 Maple Ave., Hartford, and at 10 at St. Jerome’s Church, New Britain. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours are tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Richard A. Brophy Memorial Burse, St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

Bruno Teti
Bruno Teti, 41, of New Britain, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, (September 5, 2001). He was a native and life long resident of New Britain, attended local schools, graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School and the University of Hartford. He was employed as a Test Technician 3 and group leader in Motion Measurement at Zygo Corp. in Middlefield.

Joanne Balavender Kaufman
Joanne Balavender Kaufman, 47, of Spotsylvania County, VA died Friday, (December 8, 2006) at her home in Fawn Lake. Joanne was a loving wife of Kurt Kaufman and mother of Alyssa and Ashley Kaufman. She is also survived by her parents, Jean and Stephen Balavender; her sister, Linda Rich and her husband, Buddy; two nieces, Kelcey and Taylor and her cousins, Sandy, Jim and Mike Olson. Joanne attended Wilderness Community Church. She was active in the Fawn Lake Community. She was a member of the Ladies Bible Study, Yacht Club, Ladies Bowling and Bingo and a founding member of the Adult Christian Fellowship and the Ski Club. Joanne was an avid water skier and horse enthusiast. Her family and friends will miss her loving and giving ways. Anyone that knew her loved her. She was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord. Joanne was an inspiration to all who knew her. She displayed dignity and grace as she battled her illness. Her faith and love for the Lord was unwavering. The family will receive friends TODAY, December 10 from 3-5 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, corner of Courthouse Road and Southpoint Parkway. A funeral service will be held Monday, December 11 at 11 a.m. at Wilderness Community Church. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Peruvian Mission at the Wilderness Community Church, 10501 Plank Road, Spotsylvania, VA 22553 or donations can be made to Toys for Tots.
